Disfortumente, life happens. The job I've had for about a year and a couple month has regrettably called it quits. The company I worked for was downsizing, and I unfortunately got the cut. Sucks huh? Especially when I didn't do any wrong--I'll be honest--it was one of the jobs I actually cared about. Well, live and learn...
Now I'm enjoying unemployment for a short while--well not for too long--since I am definitely on the job hunt. Anyone have any leads? I'll love you forever, and I'll bake you some cookies! :)
On other news...girls that go to the gym with full makeup....please....stop. You are ruining it for the rest of us. Not sure about you, but I go to the gym to sweat. I want to kill myself, and I'm not there to look cute.
Amen to that.
Here's to my job search, and I'll post pics of our vegas trip soon! :)
Forgive the horrible punctuation, I just really wanted to make a point.
I love the beginning part. It makes me want to flamenco.
Yes you read that right. Like this:
Ahhh. Any one want to go on a trip to Spain with lil' ol' me?
Oh, and I also made these DEELISH sugar cookies, recipe adapted from Peppermint Plum.
1 cup butter
1.5 cups sugar
2 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
6 cups flour
Mix butter, sugar until creamy. Then add eggs and vanilla. Then sour cream, and salt, soda, and finally flour. Roll them out, and then bake at 375 degrees for 7 minutes. Not too long, or they will be icky! :) Aw gawsh.
Teenish? Maybe.
But about a million times better than Twilight--and the jabs at Twilight are pretty good.
We definitely feel better about it though. Like, tons better about it.
Here's Why:
On Sunday, we were jumping outta our britches awaiting for the premier of The Walking Dead. Since we don't have cable (no self respecting married couple does), all we could do is watch the mini webisodes series. And since we didn't want to wait for gory zombie awesomeness, we watched the series. (watch below if you dare)
and we about died.
Lit'rally.
We weren't sure if the webisodes were especially gory or what--but we just barely handle watching all 5 of them.
We concluded that while watching Walking Dead, we had become completely desensitized to the gore and violence. We did watch all two seasons in the span of a couple weeks.
And now, with a little breather, we realized how yucky it made us feel. And don't get me wrong, I love the story line, and I want to find out what happens to Rick and his group, but I won't be able to watch anymore. Not to mention how when I showered later, I was beyond terrified that zombies would attack.
From now on, we are going to have to settle for much more "vanilla" type shows. Sign me up for Parks and Rec, The Office, Modern Family, and Vampire Diaries. We don't do zombies here in the Grandela household.
I am so tired.
I seriously can't believe Elan is gone. I can't voice how proud I am of him.
Missionary celebrations often lead to lack of sleep.
Two nights ago, we got three hours of sleep.
Then the last couple of nights I've been averaging 5 hours of sleep.
I'm not busy really doing anything, I've mostly been staying up just because!
I am so tired, I keep drifting in and out of a semi-unconscious state.
But Fall Break is here. Not sure what that entails. Since BYU doesn't have a fall break, and every other school I've gone to never had a fall break....so it really means I don't have class tonight. Which is alright with me. (I stole the words from this song that was playing on my Pandora as I was writing this post)....
