Gotta Love The Bachelor

Watching the Bachelor, while there are other, very sarcastic people are in the room--not a good idea. It's best to watch the Bachelor alone--preferably with a pint of Ben and Jerry's. Not with a commentary crew--especially with people that you aren't particularly fond of.

As if I didn't know that it was all scripted and fake.
As if i didn't know that everything is fake, everything from Courtney to the other girls.
As if I didn't know that they probably paid the girls to be on the show to like Ben.
As if I didn't know that the dates were totally fake.
As if I didn't know that the relationships wouldn't last.
As if I didn't know.
And yet, I was privileged enough to enjoy the wonderful comments from some people that I had no interest in hearing.

Sheesh.
Let me enjoy my mindless entertainment in peace.
I know it's fake. That's why I like it.
Sue me.

Birthdays and Blickentstaff's

Oh happy day! After celebrating Elan's bday, we went to Blickenstaff's.  This place is the bomb dot com. When you walk in, you are transported into another land. Everything is all vintage, and some of the candy I've never seen before.

There was this huge candy gum ball machine that made me want to sit there and eat bubblegum all day long.

My dad found some awesome diet sodas from Mexico, we just had to get some. My mom always gets these banana taffies that she is just crazy about. Once, she biked all the way from Orem to get some of those taffy. My family is obsessed.

You should be too, because if you've got a blog, you can post about them and get a free (you read that right) lb of candy! I'll do just about anything for a free pound. Just as long as it's legal... Check out this link for more info: http://blickenstaffs.com/!!!!

One Does Not Simply Walk Into Mordor. . .

I've got the Monday blues. I've got them bad.
Even though I've got over 7 hours of sleep, I could hardly part from my warm, sweet bed. I have a love crush on my bed and I can never get enough of it.

However, I got to see my bf early in the morning--a welcome treat. I even got to talk to my boss about the joys of Pinterest (when he caught me pinning) oooops...
Seriously, Pinterest was the greatest thing ever created. Props to the guys who came up with it.

I got to celebrate Elan (my younger brother) and his day of birth! We went to Tucano's as a family. Can you say yum? I was particularly in love with their Teriyaki steak bites. And their grilled pineapple--naturally.

Once Upon a Time is getting weird, but what can you expect from the creators of Lost?

I'm content with where I am right now.
I'm ready for whatever things bring.
I'm not sure what that means.
But I'm ready.
Ready for newness.
Ready for people to stop glaring at me in my apartment.

Wanna know the surest way to get a roommate to hate you?
Get a boyfriend.

I think I should write a book--I've done many a study on this subject.
The results?
Always the same.

Roommates think: don't trust the girl with the boyfriend.
Girl with the boyfriend thinks: why don't these roommates get lives?

It's a vicious circle.
Going round and round.

One cannot simply have roommates and a boyfriend. It's blasphemy.

It's been proven:
BYU Girl Cannot Simply Have a Boyfriend
 and Content Roommates.

I've discovered this after 3 separate terms.
Liberty Square
Canyon Terrace
The Colony

It's always been the same. Roommates are usually charming after the first couple of weeks. Everyone wants to be lovey dovey. Nothing anyone does is abnormally annoying. Until, the little things start to happen. Girls don't fight openly. It's all about being passive aggressive. Notes, notes, and more notes. Girls start to get jealous. I've noticed that it goes more quickly downhill when roommates have less social activities. It starts with a hostile note left on your window, or your cabinet. (No kidding). The less you are in the apartment, the more they want to murder.

I've found that with my roommates, I've had to choose the bf over them. It gets annoying, and makes me sad we just can't all be happy. Instead of actually talking about it like a normal person would do, I will content myself with taking more than my side of the fridge (which annoys roommates to no end). Making sure that I always leave a mess. Slamming doors when I can. Leaving my stuff everywhere. Doing my laundry at 3 am. Playing weird hipster music. Kissing Carlos like I'll never kiss him again. Talking louder than necessary. Deciding to vacuum at 2 am. Laughing as loud as I can. Farting. Cooking really smelly foods. Leaving food to rot. Cackling on my phone. Shake my head and roll my eyes when a roommate comes in. (Believe it or not, this has all been done NOT by me).

Last post about roommates. :)
Can't promise that.

I wish I had a 3 day weekend...

If I had a 3 day weekend, I would do this:

and dine on this:

Too bad I have to work.
Sigh.
Maybe this weekend I can do something fun.
I'll probably just go to the gym and wait for Carlos until he's done with work. I can do that :)

On another note, I found out my office is moving to Thanksgiving Point, within a couple of weeks! Better get my act together and see if I can work out something with them. Driving all the way up to T-Giving point is going to be quite the adventure.

Not a Whole Lotta Roommate Lovin'

It was a normal night. Carlos and I had just finished making some deelish dinner. Meatballs, spaghetti, and garlic bread. Yum, yum, yum! We usually have pretty long days on Wednesday, so we were ready to hit the temple and just relax. I got Carlos to watch the Bachelor and we were content to be with each other. I'm always happy to be with him. :)

One thing turned into another, and we were watching a show, lounging about--like we usually do, and the roommates came out of their rooms. Let me tell you, getting a single room was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I wasn't ready to deal with someone else that I didn't know. And after being spoiled with Cec as my roommate-roommate, if it wasn't going to be her, it wouldn't suffice. Most of the time I keep to myself. I'm gone most of the day, working from 7-3, which is quite possibly the nicest schedule I could ask for.

Anyways. My roommates keep to themselves, they are quiet girls, and don't have many people over. Which, there is nothing wrong with that. Carlos is over a ton, but it hasn't been a bother since everyone is usually in their own rooms and they all go to bed at 10.
(I'm sure this is what my roommates want to do to me--or Carlos)

So, I started ticking Carlos. The roommates were in the room, but we weren't being obnoxious or anything. So I thought.

(This was said while someone with an Irish accent that was practically yelling)

"What are you doing? That looks really awkward. Wow that is really awkward. Could you have some consideration? You guys need to have some respect for us, I mean, co'mon. That's really rude to pretend like we aren't even here. You guys need to act normal and stop acting like you guys are married."

Silence.

Ouch.
Um, ok?

Sometimes girls suck because they keep everything bottled up inside. This is a great example of this. It was annoying to think that everything was ok and then someone blew up about it.

I'm over it anyways. Guess Carlos and I will be spending more time at his apartment (which sometimes smells like butt). No worries, we even bought a scented candle. Go us.

I can't wait until my only roommate is Carlos. :)

No one reads this anyways, and I thought to vent this on my own little personal space.  Photobucket

Yipidee Day (aka Valentine's)

Oh what a marvelous day. I couldn't ask for more, well, I mean, I could, but that might be a little greedy. (engagement anyone?) :) Heh, heh. Just to be clear, Carlos and I are romantics, and we love V day, but, we had to make ours extra special because it was our year anniversary. I could hardly believe it. Anyways, I do believe that I've used up my daily quota of commas for the day. (see above sentence) and will show you how unbelievably awesome my day was.

First, I made breakfast for Carlos. He was doing an overnight on Monday, and I wanted him to have a yummy breakfast in his tummy. O goodness, I made this sausage breakfast roll that was to DIE for. It had sausage, egg, cheese, all wrapped up in bread. It was so good. I brought along some fruits to make it more healthy. Carlos ended up eating the whole roll...no comment there.

Then, I decorated his car with window markers. (He called me later asking if I puked color on his car--the ice had melted away and he had no idea why.) Not to worry, I made sure I decorated his car while he was at class.

 Ain't he so handsome?

We decided on Red Lobster, but the wait was over 2 hours. We waited outside (and I gave Carlos his present I made). It was great to sit and reminisce. We killed a half hour that way. Then a guy came up to us and gave us his buzzer--he said that he should be called at anytime. We got called 5 minutes later. Instead of waiting 2 hours, we had to wait like 40! Score!
We went to Red Lobster for dinner. I got my favorite, snow crab. I told Carlos that was a meal that I had to eat in silence. It takes ultimate concentration to eat snow crabs! And I'm a sicker because I like to get all of the meat out and then eat it all once I've got it. My mom thinks it's disgusting.
The bell tower lights are completely, totally flattering.
My lil monkey friend (that Carlos gave me last year) has a lil buddy now!
Wine glasses and roses. Classy no?
Be warned, never get Izzie (soda) Pomegranate flavor. It's sick.
I gave Carlos his gift in this box. It was a little book of memories that we've had and things that I love about him.
Aren't we a good looking couple?
My weapons of choice when decorating cars. I highly recommend these. :)
I found this lil' guy bright and early in the morning. With a rose and cherry chocolates--my favorite!

I got my first piece of jewelry from Carlos. Let's not mention the fact this is a necklace I've had my eye on for a while. But it was still so sweet!

we are a bunch of crazy kids. Carlos took me to the Bell Tower, where we had our first kiss, and he brought these fizzy drinks (since we had wine our first valentine's) and we got to drink it in fancy wine glasses--my absolute favorite!

So with a belly full of crab, and heart full of love, and lots and lots of kisses, I celebrated my anniversary with the man that I so love and adore.

Here's to many, many more!

Love is. . .A Lot of Things

Happy Valentine's Day! The day of love!
Let me tell you, I am in love, in love, and I don't care who knows it! :)

What is love?
I think that love is beautiful
Love is kind
Love is silly
Love is comfort
Love is laughter
Love is hugging
Love is understanding
Love is caring
Love is simple
Love is knowing
Love is being
Love is kisses
Love is everywhere
Love is within all of us.

It doesn't matter if you are single or what. Celebrate this day of love by loving those that love you.

Carlos and I decided that besides just focusing on ourselves and our love, we wanted to show our friends that we love them too! We make these insanely delicious cake balls...I cannot believe I didn't take a picture, and chocolate chip cookies! We put them in a cute lil bag and ran them over to our friends. They were all purty surprised. :) It was a fun activity where we got to go see our friends and give them some baked goods!
I'm excited for what tonight will bring.
I made Carlos some yummy breakfast. (Pics later) And I gave him a book (one he's been wanting to read for a while now)
I can't wait to give him what I've been working on. A little book full of things that I love about him, memories that we've had, and some coupons! I really hope he likes it!

I Like Reading Blogs. . .

I really do.
But when blogs turn into mini-soap dramas, it gets kind of depressing to read them.
It seems like lots of blogs I've found are written by love-struck, angst-ridden teens.
It's like taking a glimpse into a teen diary.
I guess that's what I get when I try to blog stalk.
I'll keep to my own happy place.
Filled with hoping to get engaged and wedding planning.
No more teen blogs to stalk.

I'd rather go to the gym.

Gchat is the Best

Some days you just need the love of your life to calm you down. I don't know what I would do without him. I am completely serious.

Even when I can't see him, gchat makes up for it. . .sort of.

Can you tell I've become a huge fan of screen shots? My life would be pretty meaningless without them. I couldn't document what happens on my computer!

Free Fro Yo Monday!

Besides the fact that it was Monday, it was a purty good day. It was free yogurt day! :) I got an email from The Land (yes, I am an exclusive member that gets exclusive emails) telling me that there was free yogurt on this wonderful day. I thought, I haven't had hun-cal fro yo in a while--I will be there!

I was planning on going later, since there were many things I had to do that day. But, I invited Cec and she could only go earlier--which worked out the best. We got there around 4:15 and the line was already out the door!
He's pretty cute ain't he?
Cec and I with the goods! We piled it high--after all--it was free! Not to mention the gas and time we had to pay...
Carlos was less than thrilled to be standing in line with me...I do that to him sometimes. I could hardly contain my excitement for the free stuff!

What a good day! Carlos and I even started a lil' tradition of our own FHE, ya know, since we are gonna have a family sometime. . .;)

Happiness is...

Going through a grueling week with someone you love. Going to the temple and seeing your brother there. Shopping lists. Feeling like a grown up. Laughing about how silly you are. Watching Conan instead of going to a bridal fair. Cute visiting teachers. Carlos. Odesk. Blog stalking. Notes you find on your car. Smiling. Bearing your testimony. Double chocolate chip cookies. Scriptures. Cool roommates. Making yummy pancakes. Eating jello. Listening to talks. Awesome wards. Spending every moment with the person you love. Being so close...

Que Rico, que Bonita!!!

So, this week has been a long one. Carlos has been super busy. Me, not so much. Well, I'm busy, but in a different way. I have to go to work. But once I'm done, I'm done for good. I don't have to worry about homework or anything. (except for MBA applications)

Anyways, I've been able to go to the gym--and I've started going to Zumba. Wow. I love it. It's probably one of the greatest workouts that I get. I come out of that class sweating like a beast. And it's soo fun. I walk in class with a negative attitude, and then, I start dancing, and I feel so good!

This above picture is probably true. But, if you are looking for a good cardio workout, I highly recommend Zumba. You will be able to shake your booty, and feel good about it.
